Exchange students are admitted to the College of Arts and Sciences. The college is divided by four academic divisions: art, humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences. With over 1,000 Registered Student Organizations, countless recreational sports and events for every interest, students will have no problem staying busy while at the UW!

美國的西雅圖華盛頓⼤學University of Washington (UW) 是我ㄧ直非常嚮往的⼀所⼤學，除了每年3⽉底4⽉初聞名世界各地的的櫻花季，UW 更是⼀所在⽣醫研究上頗具盛名的學校。⾼中時，除了以繁星計畫錄取臺⼤醫技系，我也申請過美國⼤學，當時有錄取華盛頓⼤學。在申請交換計畫時，我以美國為主，希望能夠練習英⽂，適應國外環境，體驗國外⼤學⽣活，也因為⾼中這個機緣將UW選做第⼀志願，非常開⼼臺⼤能給我這個交換的機會探索和學習，提供我希望出航獎學⾦，減輕在西雅圖⽣活費上的昂貴的負擔。華盛頓⼤學交換學⽣社團 United UW在華盛頓⼤學的最後⼀學期，我報名了所有學⽣只能參加⼀學期的社團活動United UW，是免費的，這個社團是由學校⽀持，讓交換學⽣，國際學⽣和本地的美國學⽣能夠在這個program 裡認識和互相分享⽣活和⽂化。United UW 會舉辦很多活動，帶著學⽣認識西雅圖，更會有其中三天，在森林裡舉辦retreat，讓⼤家近距離了解彼此。 ...住因為當初考慮到學校附近的治安比較差（不會很差但是晚上不要亂跑，尤其45街以上）和住宿地⽅和實驗室的距離，我決定住在實驗室附近的South Lake Union，⾃⼰租房⼦，所以我不太清楚住宿舍的資訊 ，SLU這區是Amazon 和Google辦公室的所在地，所以治安⼗分良好，住宅區很多，晚上比較寧靜⼀些。⾏學校到 Sea-tac 機場都有 link 地鐵可以搭 ， 搭到downtown ⼤約50分鐘，非常⽅便。我沒有在美國租過⾞，像在西雅圖這樣的⼤城市，開⾞還是比較⽅便，但⼤眾運輸其實也很不錯，這⼀年我都是搭公⾞，地鐵還有輕軌到西雅圖的各個地⽅。......undefined

黃同學 113-1 在美國華盛頓大學的心得分享

緣起因為從來沒有去過歐美國家，想要趁在學期間透過交換計畫好好地體驗不同的文化與生活。為了讓自己的英文口說能力更進步，選擇了在美國的華盛頓大學交換一個Quarter。學校簡介創建於1861年，位於華盛頓州西雅圖市，華盛頓大學（University of Washington，簡稱UW）是美國西岸最古老的大學，校園非常漂亮，校園本身也是西雅圖的觀光景點之一。課內課程學習我來華盛頓大學交換一個Quarter，總共修了三門課(共15學分)，以下為我修習的課程:• Phil 118 Persuasion Or Manipulation? The Ethics And Psychology Of Influence• Drama 180 Collaboration And Inclusion: Ways Of Working Together• Ling 233 Introduction To Language And Society交換生的選擇並不多，很多課程已經先被華盛頓大學的學生先選完。但交換生可以選擇的種類很多，不限於自己原本科系的課程。因為我只來短短的三個月，比起學業我更希望自己可以在美國拓展自己的人脈，並且體驗一些臺大沒有的課程。Drama 180是一個可以認識很多人的課程，課內的學習討論和小組報告非常多，基本上一個Quarter過去絕對可以記起班上每個人的名字。Ling 233是語言學的基礎課之一，每個禮拜都有作業和小考，但個人覺得負擔不大。Phil 118是三堂課之中我喜歡的課程，這門課不是純哲學，課程內容包含了許多心理學。課程主題圍繞在哲學的理想和現實的碰撞，有趣的部份在討論現實狀況時的可能的心理學應對方式，以及心理學應用的道德層面。老師和助教都非常專業，我也從討論課學到很多東西。另外，課程閱讀的份量其實不少，但學生想偷懶的話也是很容易偷懶的一門課（閱讀小考過於簡單）。undefined
