
Soka University

Soka University is a private university located in Hachiōji, Tokyo, Japan. In 2014, it was selected by the Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) as one of the institutions participating in the Top Global University Project, which supports universities’ efforts to enhance internationalization.
The university offers a wide range of undergraduate programs, including Economics, Business Administration, Law, Letters, Education, Science and Engineering, Nursing, and International Liberal Arts.
The word “Soka” is a Japanese term meaning “value creation.” Founded in 1971 by Daisaku Ikeda, Soka University was established with three founding principles: “Be the highest seat of learning for humanistic education,” “Be the cradle of a new culture,” and “Be a fortress for the peace of humankind.”
