
Hitotsubashi University

Hitotsubashi University is a national university located in Tokyo, Japan. As one of the top 10 Designated National universities in Japan, Hitotsubashi is a relatively small institution that specialized solely in social science.
Established in 1875 and evolved from the Tokyo College of Commerce, Hitotsubashi has been consistently ranked among the top universities in Japanese university rankings and considered the best in economics and commerce-related subjects in Japan.
Hitotsubashi has strong relationships with overseas universities. There are around 900 international students and 170 researchers from abroad under student/academic exchange agreements with 174 universities and research institutions.
Hitotsubashi University emphasizes small-group class education, and one of the prominent characteristics
of this is our seminar-style approach. The seminar-style approach keeps class sizes small and focuses on
intense student-faculty interaction, providing rich course content.
