Established in 2000, Singapore Management University (SMU) is internationally recognized for its highly interactive, collaborative, and project-based approach to learning.

Singapore Management University - Introduction

新加坡管理⼤學（以下簡稱SMU）是新加坡三⼤公⽴⼤學之⼀。相比新國⼤和南洋理⼯，SMU在國際上的名氣低，歷史也不悠久，但是作為新加坡三⼤公⽴⼤學，實⼒不容⼩覷。除了校舍新且位於新加坡市中⼼，SMU的校風也非常新穎且前衛，以下分享我在SMU交換⼀學年的⼼得與經驗。學⽣簽證（STP&Singpass)學校會在開學前請ICA的⼈員來幫忙辦理學⽣簽證(STP)的最後作業，像是登錄指紋、證件照上傳等等(所以記得⼀定要把證件照帶著！），約莫⼀週後簽證就會辦理好，也就可以完成Singpass的註冊以及後續電話卡續約、銀⾏帳⼾申辦等事宜。如果提前到新加坡且想快點拿到學⽣簽以辦理其他事，也可以⾃⼰去ICA解決，不過需要提前預約。在此說明Singpass是非常重要的東西，有點類似每個⼈在新加坡的身分證，沒有這個就不能完成電話卡續約，銀⾏帳⼾申請也很麻煩。⼀般買菸酒也都要出⽰Singpass證明身份。食新加坡⼀般的超市（Fair Price) 並不貴，在那裡基本能滿⾜所有⽣活需求品，從超市買菜⾃⼰煮也很便宜。去食閣⼀般10新幣以內也能吃飽，只是⽔準參差不齊，建議提前做功課或找⼈多的攤販消費。餐廳吃飯就真的比台灣貴很多，⼈均30-40新幣（台幣700以上）。在新加坡出⾨不管是吃飯還是出去玩建議都要⾃⼰帶⽔！⼤部分的餐廳都不會免費提供飲⽤⽔，⽽且常常⼀杯就要1-2新幣！住我比較幸運的是住在私⼈公寓（condo)，和⼀位室友共⽤衛浴但有⾃⼰的房間，社區也有免費的健身房、超巨⼤游泳池、烤⾁區、唱K室、籃球場、網球場等，⽽且也剛好位在捷運站旁，環境好但租⾦也相對⾼。外國⼈很難住到他們所謂的政府組屋（HDB)，如果找到這種，建議跟房東確認好，也要⼩⼼租房詐騙。另外，也有⼈選擇住在學校推薦或是合作的學⽣公寓，裡⾯⼤部分是2-4⼈房、⼀層樓共⽤衛浴，租⾦相對低但也比較沒有⾃⼰的空間。找住宿是最費⼒的⼀個過程，如果有認識的⼈可以幫你實際去看房或⾃⼰提前來確認最好。學校課程SMU 名氣比NUS 、NTU差，國際⼤學排名(QS...之類的)也不怎麼樣，但個⼈認為算是個寶藏學校。實際在這裡上課學習就會發現這是⼀間很活潑的學校。社團、學校辦的各種課外活動天天都有，學校也非常⿎勵⼤家參加各種課外活動，每次贊助的資源和經費都不少（也有專⾨辦給交換⽣的活動讓⼤家在異國他鄉認識朋友，都挺好玩的⽽且常常提供免費的⾃buffet：）。上課的教授普遍⼈都挺好也蠻認真，教學品質也還不錯。在這裡學習也必會讓⾃⼰的英⽂實⼒⼤⼤進步（上課不⽤特別擔⼼Singlish聽不懂，我遇到⼤部分的教授都沒有很重的⼜⾳，⽽且平常跟同學開會討論報告慢慢就聽習慣了：）因為這裡每⼀堂課都有⼩組報告，class participation看得非常重（因為所有課都是⼩班制，所以有沒有在參與課堂助教和教授都看得很明顯）......undefined
