It is one of Russia's leading universities and has a strong reputation in mathematics, natural sciences, languages, and international relations. It is also recognized for its strong employer–student connections in Russia.

Accommodation is offered with a fee of about 6000 RUR per month. Students can optionally take a free Russian language course for foreign students during the whole exchange period.
